Glossy Flowers by Donna Gray

Hello everyone,

Donna here today using Gelatos and some Carabelle stamps on a card.

Here’s What I Did:

Take thick, white card and cover with a thin layer of Gesso as Gelatos always work better on this surface. Just apply the Gelatos randomly and blend in, I also used a baby wipe just to take some of the Gelatos off as I wanted a muted, worn looking background.

I took a Wendy Vecchi word stencil and just drew through the stencil words using a black Faber Castell Pitt Big Brush Pen, then blotted off so that too looked more muted. Add a little bit of black Distress Ink to grunge it all up a bit too.

Next I stamped the Carabelle flowers and stems on separate card, coloured with Pro markers and fussy cut out. The flowers are actually coated in glossy accents that make them look like red enamel but unfortunately the camera doesn’t pick that up!

Finishing touches are another Carabelle flower, stamped in black Memento, cut in half and then added to either corner. Some little die cuts and my favourite Tim Holtz Small Talk stickers, which I coloured lightly with a Gelato.

Adhere to your cardstock and there you go, a grungy/steampunk/quirky flower set!

Hope you like it
