Woodland Maiden by Lynne Moncrieff

Maybe you saw the That’s Crafty! shows on HOCHANDA, lots of fabulous new products released.  Of course, the D.T. are the lucky ones who receive some of the products, pre-release, to have a play with and create samples for the HOCHANDA shows.

This wreath is one of my samples. The greyboard leaves and acorns I received along with the Bronze and Copper acrylics, pointed me in the direction of an Autumnal wreath.

Supplies

That’s Crafty! Surfaces MDF Wreath – medium sized circle
That’s Crafty! Multi Surface Paints - Copper, Bronze Acrylic
PaperArtsy Infusions: Rocky Road, Rusty Car
Character Constructions Stamp Set - Inner Child No. 7
White Cardstock - Scrap
Extras:
Re-cycled silk sari ribbon,
Copper glittered tree bark and small cones were lovely gifts from Dorthe!

Instructions

Apply Infusions to wreath and acorns and leaves.

If you are a clean crafter (!) then either avoid my technique or wear disposable gloves. If you are a messy crafter, pointing a messy finger firmly in my own direction, then enjoy getting messy!

Apply acrylics onto craft mat. I worked while the greyboard pieces were still wet from the Infusions. Place the items onto the paint, pressing down into the paint. Repeat this for all the elements required. While working with the Infusions, I also stained silk sari ribbon.

Stamp woman onto cardstock, fussy cut before adhering to top of wreath, layering with that lovely piece of tree bark. To her head, adhere a piece of broken twig from the cones. Begin to layer the various stained/painted leaves, creating dimension as they are layered to the wreath.

Onto right side, tie lengths of the stained silk sari ribbon and near to bottom of wreath, tie more stained sari ribbon into a bow. Finally, tuck ends of branches of cones between layered leaves.

The Character Constructions stamp (one of my absolute favourites) is not available on the That’s Crafty! site but Laura will special order any Character Constructions stamps for you.

Until next time,

Wishes

Lynne

  3. She really is a beautiful stamp, Lynne, and here, you transformed her to a woodland woman reindeer (in my fantasy ) --surrounded ,in the golden wood ,of all the autumnal`s stunning golden and brown colors from dried leaves and the restful peace, now soon starting in nature, around us . It is a gorgeous wreath, my dear, I so love it !! xxx

  4. This looked amazing on TV Lynne and I understood exactly how you felt working with those paints previously working with 3 of the Metallic paints myself. They give the most amazing glow along with texture, it's as if you have picked a handful of fallen leaves and placed them around the wreath to extend their beauty just a little longer...The beauty of Autumn xx
